My grandmother passed her engagement ring to me before my now husband proposed in 2013. He reset the center diamond into a new ring, but didn’t want to leave her original ring unwearable, so he had a sapphire (her birthstone) set in the ring. I wore it on our wedding day, and it represented my something old, new, and blue. My grandmother passed away earlier this year, and I wear her ring when I am missing her and want to feel connected with her memory.
